Delawana Resort changed hands in 2014, and is now operating under new ownership. The premiere Muskoka Resort is now being run as a self-catered vacation destination offering rentals of Family Cottages, Cottages, Resort Suites, and Resort Rooms. Delawana Resort now has accommodations fitting for any individuals, families, or groups looking to experience Muskoka first-hand.

We've compiled the following list of changes to assist any of the resort's previous guests in comparing many of the changes that have occurred at and around the resort since the new ownership.

Resort NamePreviously known as Delawana Inn Spa & Conference Resort, the changes at the resort that are ongoing have been accompanied by a new name: Delawana Resort.
Main BuildingThe Main Building at Delawana Resort is currently closed. Opportunities are currently being assessed for the main building, and Delawana Resort is working with the Township of Georgian Bay to obtain permission to renovate and update the building over the next few years.
RestaurantThere is currently a restaurant on-site at the Delawana Resort. Formerly known as the Mackinaw Restaurant, The Narrows Grill now occupies the same space, and is open to the public. Please visit for more details.
Golf CourseThe Golf Course Delawana Pines no longer exists at Delawana Resort. Guests of the resort are encouraged to take advantage of the close location of Oak Bay Golf Course located 10 minutes away in Port Severn.
SpaThere is currently no longer a Spa at the Delawana Resort.
WeddingsDelawana Resort was a popular destination for weddings in the past. The resort is happy to accommodate your wedding guests in any of our available Family Cottages, Cottages, Suites, or Rooms, but our large group facilities on the resort have been closed (ex: dining hall, meeting rooms, etc.).
Off-Season BookingsDelawana Resort now offers year-round bookings, limited to our Family Cottage rentals that are now available any time of year. The rest of the resort will remain closed in the off-season, but guests of our Family Cottage Rentals are still free to explore and utilize the grounds.
Watercraft and BoatsUse of all non-motorized watercraft at Delawana Resort such as Canoes, Kayaks, and Paddleboats are offered free of charge to guests and are included in a guests stay. Aluminum Boats and Motors are available to rent on-site.
PlaygroundThe Playground at the Delawana Resort is available for use by all guests of the Resort.
Outdoor Swimming PoolThe Outdoor Swimming Pool at the Delawana Resort is available for use by all guests of the Resort.
FireworksCurrently, Delawana Resort will not be putting on a fireworks show for long weekends, though the resort encourages guests to bring their own fireworks for long weekend celebrations.
Water InflatablesCurrently water inflatables are not available at the North Beach at Delawana Resort. If the opportunity exists, the resort may put out inflatables on long weekends during the summer.
Dining HallThe Dining Hall at Delawana Resort was part of the main building. The main building is currently closed.
TheatreThe Theatre at Delawana Resort was part of the main building. The main building is currently closed.
Fitness CenterCurrently the Fitness Center and Racketball building at the Delawana Resort are closed.
Adventure CourseThe Rock climbing and High Ropes at Delawana Resort are currently unavailable for use.
Mini PuttThere is no longer mini-putt on-site at Delawana Resort.
Aqua-FitAqua-fit is currently not offered on-site at Delawana Resort, but the pool is still available for guest use during the summer months.
Hot TubThe Hot Tub in the pool area of Delawana resort is currently closed, but the sauna is available for guest use.
ConferencesDelawana Resort is no longer a Conference Center. The resort has accommodations to accommodate a mid-size conference's members, but meeting rooms and conference facilities are currently not available at the resort.
All-InclusiveAll-inclusive packages are no longer offered at Delawana Resort, as it is now a self-catered Resort. Self-catered means that guests are required to provide their own food and necessities, much like a typical cottage rental or room stay. This allows the resort to offer our guests a much more affordable and unique vacation stay.
HousekeepingBeing self-catered, guests of Delawana Resort are required to maintain the cleanliness of their own unit during their stay. There is no turn-over service during a guests stay at Delawana Resort. Linens and Towels can be provided upon request for a small fee, or guests are welcome to provide their own. Accommodations are cleaned by our housekeeping staff after the unit has been vacated between bookings.
LaundryCurrently there are no laundry facilities on-site at Delawana Resort. However, there is a laundromat located 10 minutes away in Port Severn.
StaffBeing self-catered, Delawana Resort requires less staff for the summers than it had in previous years. This allows our guests to provide their own personally tailored experiences while staying at the resort. Our friendly and helpful staff will still be available if you have any questions or concerns during your stay.
EntertainmentEntertainment is no longer provided at Delawana Resort (ex: magicians, hypnotists, music and arts performances, and nature exhibits). We encourage our guests to provide their own entertainment by enjoying the beautiful shorelines and experience of Georgian Bay and Muskoka. Stay tuned to our News for upcoming events at the The Narrows Grill during the summer months.
Organized ActivitiesDelawana Resort no longer offers Organized activities. (ex: wake boarding, water skiing, and boat tours). Equipment such as canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, and more are provided free of charge for our guests to use throughout their stay. We encourage you to visit our Activities Pages for more details.
Miss MidlandCurrently the Miss Midland no longer stops at the Delawana Resort docks to pick up guests. We encourage our guests to travel to Midland to still enjoy the Miss Midland Boat Tours.
SailingCurrently the Delawana Resort does not provide sailboats for use, nor offer any sailing programs.
Children's ProgramsDelawana Resort no longer offers Children's Programs or Organized Children's Activities, though the resort still remains very 'kid-friendly', including a large playground full of equipment and lawn games.
Day PassesIn the past, the Delawana Resort offered Day Passes to non-guests of the resort. Currently day passes for non-guests are not available, though guests of the resort may acquire a day pass for friends and family.
PetsDelawana Resort currently does not allow pets in accommodations or on premises. Gertie the Delawana Dog is an exception, as she is an active staff member of the resort.
PricesYou will find Delawana Resort's prices very much reflect the changes that have and are occurring at and around the resort. This means a much more affordable family getaway in the same beautiful Georgian Bay, Muskoka atmosphere.
